At 30 min from Vacation Rental B&B Borgo di Vigoleno® you can reach the Castle of Gropparello: its old walls  keep a surprise, an “emotional park”, the firts on in Italy, where children can live the stories of the past in period costumes. A double drawbridge, a square tower and a large inner coutryyard are the features of the Castle of Paderna, where the art of fortification matches the country ciulture by turning into an organic farming house.

Moving in the Nure Valley (30 km from Vacation Rental B&B Borgo di Vigoleno®) you can reach the park of the Castle of Grazzano Visconti, created at the beginning of the 20th century according to a plan of the Duke Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone; the park has Italian, French and English gardens, following the decoration requirements that were popular between 19th and 20th centuries. Parterre, smaòò bridges, fountains and statues decorate a romantic view, adorned with an amusing labyrinth.

Going up throught the Tidone Valley you can admire the six circles of walls around Rocca d’Olgisio, wonderfully restored by the owners.

The last castle in the district of Piacenza is the castle of San Pietro in Cerro, dating from the end of the 15th century; this arisocratic residence of a papal ambassador offers many Renaissance features and hots a collection of several present day artists’ works.
