POPES JOHN PAUL II AND JOHN XXIII WILL BE DECLARED SAINTS ON APRIL 2014

romePope Francis during the course of the Consistory in the Vatican’s Consistory Hall, decreed that Blessed Pope John XXIII and Blessed Pope John Paul II will be raised to Sainthood on April 27, 2014, the day on which the Church celebrates the Second Sunday of Easter and Divine Mercy.

The celebration will be in Rome with a special ceremony a week after Easter, just to make next April 2014 an exceptionally busy period on the Catholic calendar.
