FOOD MADE IN ITALY SHINES IN CIBUS 2014

emilia romagna foodA record number of exhibitors have signed up for the 2014 Cibus international food trade fair, taking place in Parma from the 5th to the 8th May. After years of recession in the Italian market, compensated from an export boom, the 2600 Italian companies present at Cibus have reacted enthusiastically to the demand of new products for both Italian and foreign markets.

Home cooking is an increasingly popular hobby among Italians, whose demand for organic and healthy food is steadily growing: in order to meet their needs, the food industry has created new products. The firms in Cibus have a chance to showcase their delights to international markets and looking to the future Expo 2015, the World’s Fair to be held May 1-October 31 in Milan next year.

Cibus in Parma promotes also wine and traditional products from Emilia Romagna, where Ecotourism Borgo di Vigoleno® is located, the Italian region with the largest number of PDO (Protected Denominatetion of Origin) and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) products, 27 in total.
