This summer will be one to remember: Europe’s heat wave has pushed the mercury to its highest level in Italy since measurements began in 1881. The country’s national weather service says a medium measurement recorded in the last days with a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius (105 Fahrenheit).
In our Podere Borgo di Vigoleno® self catering vacation rental we are planning new itineraries for our guest. Our region Emilia Romagna has splendid natural environment thanks to the Apennine Mountains separating it from Tuscany and the Italian Riviera: it is home to two national parks, and twenty-six between regional parks and natural reserves. Our peaceful walking and hiking forays can take you on a discovery of this wonderful landscape with its refreshing rivers and waterfalls and luxuriant valleys.
Not far from Podere Borgo di Vigoleno® there are beautiful natural scenery in the Apennines for a walking or hiking tour. We also suggest the Via Francigena from the Cisa Pass to Pontemoli, the old pilgrim route through the countryside, woods and villages. It gives you a real feel for the natural environment, history and traditions of Lunigiana, and the incredible variety of the local landscape.
We suggest to visits historical cities and museums in the morning and then refresh in one of the swimming pool or in the rivers of the area and, in the evening, a gentle breeze wind will be a perfect partner to taste the real local food in a typical trattoria.
