(Antonella F. – Milano)
*****Authentic Italian Experience in 400 year old farmhouse with castle If century-old charm, authenticity, and nature excite you in travel, then VRBO Listing #476304 Borgo di Vigoleno is for you. Surrounded by an orchard, vineyards and a castle, this 400 year old property and its lovely and kind proprietor, Alessandra, offer a location that won’t disappoint. Borgo di Vigoleno feels like a hidden gem in the beautiful Parma region. Visiting there is as if a relative has welcomed you home. There was farm-fresh produce on the table and recommendations for local markets, restaurants and tastings. My family of four (our kids were 9 and 12 at the time) came to VRBO Listing #476304 Borgo di Vigoleno the first few jet lagged days after flying from Colorado and it was the perfect place to just be and soak in Italy for the first time. The natural beauty of the region is spectacular and we loved just driving around and exploring. The closest town was, I think, 8 miles away and it was easy to stop in any local restaurant and find amazing food (eg fresh produce, cheese, prosciutto, and pasta!). The one day trip we took was to Maranello to the Ferrari factory. We stayed in VRBO Listing #476304 Borgo di Vigoleno instead of staying in a hotel in Modeno (since you have to get two rooms anyway with four people) and I am so glad we did. The proprietor, Alessandra, has created a wonderful retreat. (Rebecca C. – Colorado, USA)
*****We stayed 10 days in Vigoleno,in this 1600’s house, nestled in the Duchy of Parma & Piacenza. The place was adorable and there was nothing you could not find. Our host, Alexandra, was there for everything we needed or wanted to know and we got to understand her love and care of her horses. The area has 24 castles and we challenge everybody to try and see them all…we were not able to do it as there was just too much to see. Our camera run out of space but we have wonderful memories! Thanks Alexandra for sharing with us your wonderful world. Best wishes from both of us. (Emilia R. – Fredericton, Canada)
*****Sono molto soddisfatta le decorazioni sono belle e profumatissime, davvero un ottimo acquisto! Grazie ancora… (Alessandra M., Genova)
******Buongiorno Alessandra, abbiamo appena ricevuto l’ordine. … sono bellissimi e profumatissimi. Grazie mille. A presto! (Gianluca T., Locri RC)

*****Enchanting stone house in an idyllic setting. We arrived very late at night to be received by our host Alessandra. Candles lit the way through the entry, the stairs and our rooms and comfortable beds. A basket of breakfast items ready for us for the first morning. We awoke each morning to enjoy again and again the lovely views into the valley and up the mountain. An excellent base from which to explore the immediate area (medieval castles, little villages, excellent restaurants) or trips further afield. Each day Alessandra made suggestions for places to visit and delighted in us enjoying this tranquil and undiscovered little part of Italian paradise. (Eva B. – Capital Territory, Australia)

******Enchanting Perfection!
Despite our late night arrival Alessandra was warm and welcoming. The living space was beautifully prepared for our very short stay. The property is well taken care of and peaceful. We ventured to a couple of small towns nearby on Alessadra’s recommendation and had a wonderful time experiencing true Italian culture. We had 2 young girls with us who could have sat in the garden and watched the horses all day, but we dragged them up to the castle (2 minute drive) where they were blown away by the view. I prefer Italy this way. Quiet town where you run into a local wedding, speak with the church’s priest for hours, get invited to view the inner-workings of local restaurants, and head back to Alessandra’s to feel at home in a place you wish you could stay for years, not just days or weeks. For a more practical review of the property I will say that everything worked as it should and for the first time in my Italy travels the beds were not hard as rocks which made for a restful sleep. We’re going back for a longer stay hopefully within the year. (Elizabeth K. – USA)

*****Piece of Paradise in Italy! This tranquil place set amongst beautiful rolling hills was the prfect place for our family. Kept in original condition, it is true to its Italian roots. The host is a delight and can point out wonderful places to see, eat and drink int he region. It is located an easy drive to the Cinque Terre coast, an easy, hassle free train ride to Milan, and so many other delightful towns nearby. You would kick yourself if you missed out staying in real Italy. (Keiran M., Melbourne Australia)

(Debora L. – Belluno)
Borgo di Vigoleno was located about 20 minutes south of the a1 Motorway between Parma and Piacenza in an area dotted with castles. One is located within a 10 minute walk and is where we went for our morning cappuccino. We spent 6 nights at Borgo di Vigoleno. It was easy to take 2 hour or less day trips in Emilia-Romagna and Piedmonte and we always enjoyed returning to the quiet relaxing B&B; with its horses, vineyard, fig trees. Really enjoyed sitting in the yard overlooking the countryside.
Alessandra who runs the B&B; is personable, knowledgeable and the perfect hostess providing fresh eggs and heirloom tomatoes from her garden which we used for breakfast. Her story of how she has come to run the B&B; is fascinating. The B&B; is charming and rustic as she has chosen to be authentic in decor with its origins in the 1600s though also provides internet access and tv. There are 3 bedrooms (1 master, 2 rooms with 2 single beds decorated beautifully), 1 bathroom with great towels and a kitchen/sitting room (well-equipped for cooking). We used her outdoor grill for lunch on our last day and were also able to do laundry. There is also a table and benches for outdoor dining. Alessandra had excellent restaurant recommendations and handled reservations for us and even joined us for dinner one evening. You must try the regional Torta Fritta – yum! We had some amazing meals – Trattoria Trinita & Trattoria Da Luigi and She also arranged for a culatello tour in nearby Zibello.
We absolutely loved our time at Borgo di Vigoleno and will definitely return. Cheryl-Ann C. (Washington DC – USA)

*****Our family of 5 stayed 7 nights in the farmhouse and loved it! It was exactly as described and had everything we needed. Booking was easy and we had great communication with alessandra before and during our stay. She was kindly waiting for us when we arrived to welcome us and show us around. Very thoughtful too with a lovely platter of fresh fruit and other little touches made it feel personalised.
The farmhouse itself was fantastic. Decor was well suited to surroundings and the era of the original building. Everything was to the highest quality, even down to the linen and crockery. We could not fault the facilities. Kitchen and outdoor cooking area made it easy to self cater. Wifi connection came in handy too.
Location suited us perfectly. We had a hire car so used the farmhouse as a base for day trips. We went to Milano, Fierenze, Pisa, Venezia and Modena as well as spending time in Parma and Fidenza which were closer by. Alessandra was very willing to help with local information when we needed it too. It was great to return each day and enjoy the fabulous countryside!
We loved it and would recommend it to others without hesitation. Maria F. (Sydney Australia)

*****We loved our stay at the farm house. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and very pleased with our holiday location. The house is packed with history and very cozy. The bedrooms were large with lots of character. The views of the Italian hills were breathtaking as well. Alessandra is an excellent host and was very help full. We will be telling anyone we know who is traveling to the region about this little gem. thanks again Alessandra for the wonderful time! Brandon B. (Vancouver BC. Canada)

*****Podere Borgo di Vigoleno was the perfect size and location. Great for day trips to the towns and castles with a lot of things to do and visit and gorgeous hills and nature. The apartment was clean, comfortable and inviting. The rooms are very clean (with midweek change of towels) and beds were very good quality. Very quite area, a cosy and secure place to stay. The owner is very friendly but not invasive at all, respecting the privacy of the guests. (Blance L., Paris, France)

Ennio M. (Milano)

*****The house is set in the most beautiful surroundings with stunning views of the hilly, open countryside all around. Very friendly owner. Plenty of things to do if you like walking and sightseeing old towns and villages. Antony W. (UK)

*****Alessandra was absolutly super, made you very welcome, fresh homegrown tomatoes which tasted like heaven and fresh basil on the dining room table. The Casa was suitable for 2 people but with some low beams in the lounge area could be duck or grouse!!.The kitchen was basic but had most of what you required plus there was a bbq outside. The bedroom was huge and the bed very comfortable. This is a stay in the middle of the countryside and a Tom Tom is necessary. Just above the Casa is the Castle of Vigoleno which is certainly worth a visit as are many other castles in this area. Parma,Cremona, Fidenza are all with in a hours drive. There is a fantastic Trattoria with in a 5kms drive from the Casa with great food. Alessandra will give you directions and phone and make a booking for you. If you like peace and quiet and want to take life easy, this is probably not a bad bet the views are lovely and the weather was stunning. Calvin M. (UK)

*****This ancient farmhouse surrounded by vineyards is a perfect place for old-style country lovers. Rooms are simple, clean and cosy. The owner Alessandra is a most helpful host, ready to take you out for a tour with her horses or for a walk in the surrounding hills. Conveniently located for tour of the medieval castles in the area. A car is highly recommended.
Francesca P. (Rome)

*****It’s a beautiful old house in the country. If you like horses and the italian food it’s your place. Stefano S. (Milano)

*****I love this place! Every couple of months I take some time and spend it in this house in the countryside; it feels like going back in the years…
The owner is a lovely young lady very passionate! The countryside could not be better and it’s very peaceful and relaxing.
Just to give you an idea, you could meet a family of pheasants crossing your way or see a bunch of deers running a little far away.
The location is nothing fancy, but really full of charme.
The surroundings offer a lot of opportunities. Giovanna M.G.(Milano)

*****Borgo di Vigoleno is taken right out of an italian movie. The countryside, the smiles from the townspeople, the delicious food and specially the warmth and knowledge of alessandra, the owner, made every moment unforgetable! Highly recommended! Maria Elena F. (Costa Rica)
